Built for the budding, would-be-members of the Fighting Game Community who find the genre too difficult to get into, Be Not Afraid is built for accessibility, and boasts a variety of single and multiplayer content meant to engage and onboard people with the intricacies of the Fighting Game Environment as a whole.

Gameplay

Be Not Afraid is meant to control like a from-the-ground-up take on the fighting game Genre, modernized and made more accessible for the home console and PC gaming era while not sacrificing the feeling and gameplay physics of traditional fighters overall.

The control scheme is a carefully considered 4-button layout meant to feel ergonomic and natural with a modern console controller. Dedicated buttons for jumping, dashing, and blocking, feel more intuitive coming off of other game genres, and are meant to be easier to grasp for newcomers.

Story

Be Not Afraid takes place in a world that could only exist in a fighting game, where the Heavens and Earth have collided and grown intertwined, and Angels walk alongside humans in their day-to-day commute, each trying to get by and earn an honest living amidst the action-packed absurdity of the world they mutually inhabit.

Dive into the country of Victoria, an opulent dynasty of luxury and indulgence. Deep beneath its towering mountains of hedonism lies an engine fueled by avarice, which seeks to upend the sacred balance of Chaos and Order such to ensure its bottomless cup runneth over in an endless bacchanalia of growth.

Take control of Carrington Geiger, somebody who cares about none of that and is just trying to pay her rent on time. After a mercenary job gone wrong, her humble life alongside her roommate Quinton is put in jeopardy, and she must reluctantly take up the role of protagonist as she aims to set things right, all the while being pursued by vengeful bounty hunters and being forced to confront her visceral past, and the gnawing rot aching deep within her soul.

Honestly, she’d rather be doing anything else.

Characters

Carrington “Carrie” Geiger

A Plasma-blooded War Angel, Carrie’s gameplan begins and ends with hitting you really hard until you stop moving. She boasts a straight-to-the-point kickboxer technique, swinging her thick, armored limbs for powerful roundhouse kicks and heavy wild haymakers. Her plasma-infused biology also allows her to zone opponents with atomic fireballs, stun them with electric open-palm shockwaves, and crush them with rocket propelled dive kicks. Where others rely on tricky techniques or convoluted gimmicks, Carrie sticks with a balanced, heavy-hitting fighting style that aims to end battles quickly–for your sake and for hers, let’s get this over with.
